Notable Lyric:
Wasn’t I a good king? (Maybe too much of a good thing, huh?)
Didn’t I spoil you? Me or the money, what you loyal to?
(Huh, I gave you my loyalty) Made you royalty and royalties
(Took care of these n*ggas’ lawyer fees) and this is how n*ggas rewardin’ me, damn
Watch the Throne is filled to the brim with stories about partying in Paris and going HAM, but it ends on a bitter note.
“Why I Love You” isn’t a list of reasons why you’re deserving of Jay-Z and Kanye’s affection. Rather, it’s an abbreviated question. Why does this anonymous someone deserve the love of the likes of these two men?
Someone, somewhere along the line, did something pretty heinous to Jay-Z and Kanye. Probably a lot of people. It’s not easy being two of the most celebrated and respected people in your line of work, particularly when that line of work is fueled largely by pride and hubris.
Leave it to those two to air their beefs in such a catchy and entertaining way.
