Laura Ingraham chuckles while reporting on the death of a murder victim

Laura Ingraham won’t come out of this one unscathed.

Answers and apologies simply won’t do in this scenario. Fox News’s conservative golden child and host of Ingraham Angle, Laura Ingraham, sealed her fate when she had a hearty chuckle at the expense of a murder victim.

One day after the Los Angeles memorial service and 25-mile funeral procession where Nipsey Hussle was delivered to his final resting place, Ingraham took it upon herself to report the news, subjectively of course.

Rather than refraining from reporting the news that sent shockwaves, she was looking for an “angle” and an unpolished one she found. “FDT,” the 2016 release by Compton native YG who featured Nipsey Hussle became the showcased detail that was spun to meet Fox News standards and the standards of the network’s viewership, stating to the camera with a toothy grin,

"“Yesterday in L.A., thousands lined the streets to say goodbye to rapper Nipsey Hussle. Now this dear artist recently released a song called ‘FDT’ – F Donald Trump.”"

Adding insult to injury, the network went on to play a clip of the song, showing YG on screen where her and fellow guest Raymond Arroyo giggled about the “catchiness” of the track.

"“Now that’s a creative refrain that goes on and on. Suppose it has anything to do with the unemployment rate?”"

Notable figures in the world of hip-hop and beyond have put out a call to action, commencing a petition requesting the firing of Ingraham. Game, T.I., and Tank are among the many.

While the lack of emotional intelligence may never cease to amaze us, let us seek solace in those who won’t idly stand by and let her comments go unnoticed. More insulting than her tactless and apathetic statements for a man who was beloved, celebrated, assassinated in broad daylight, and mourned globally was her inaccurate reporting.

It wasn’t “thousands” lining the streets. Au contraire! His death reached the collective on a global scale. Swallow the magnitude, Ingraham.
