Drake’s highly anticipated Anita Max Wynn Tour kicked off in Perth, Australia on Tuesday. The 6 God is visiting Australia for the first time since 2017. So, coming off a major rap battle against Kendrick Lamar, Drizzy Drake was prepared to put on a show for his fans.
The rapper walked out to “Over My Dead Body.” And apart from him cutting through a sea of fans to get to the stage, the most impressive part of Drake’s walkout was the symbolism he showcased through his clothes.
Drizzy was seen wearing a black hoodie with bullet holes in it, and he was leaving behind a trail of smoke coming from his hoodie. The bullet holes were a representation of all the shots he had taken from other artists in the past year. Fans on the internet went berserk as soon as the video of the rapper’s entrance was posted by a fan.
Drake performed some of his timeless classics on the stage. Of course, the fans in the arena got to experience his impressive range as an artist, whereas those not lucky enough to be there had to settle for the short clips. Since he hasn’t been on stage for a while, Drizzy got to perform his most recent songs, including “No Face” for the first time.
While songs like “No Face” and “SICKO MODE” were adrenaline boosters, he also managed to bring the arena together to sing “Marvin’s Room” and “Passionfruit. Drake then closed out his show with “Yebba’s Heartbreak” and a heartfelt speech.
He said, “My name is Drake. I started doing music in 2008. I come all the way from Toronto, Canada. The year is now 2025 and no matter what, Drizzy Drake is very much alive. And that’s all. Thanks to you. I love y’all.”
Drake clearly felt the love the Australian fans showered upon him in his first show. 6 God promised his fans that he would not take a long time to visit them again. He has another show in Perth tomorrow and then 12 more shows to do in Australia until March 7.
