On the song “Pi,” from his 2024 mixtape Might Delete Later, J. Cole said, “How many verses of the year this year is Cole gonna write?” Cole wasn’t exaggerating in that line at all, and he's proving it by dropping quality songs in 2025. The North Carolina rapper recently posted a new song called “cLOUDs” on his Inevitable blog.
The cut is produced by DZL, Omen, and has “small contributions” from the man himself. A day after dropping "cLOUDs” on his blog, Cole released it on digital platforms.
While posting the song on his website, Cole revealed that it was made only a few days prior. This could've easily been one of those songs that never saw the light of day, but thanks to his newfound interest in blogging we got to hear it.
Cole wrote, “just wanted to share. made this a few days ago, then i added a second verse and was like ‘man I got a blog now, I can put whatever I want up there.’ I didn't have a title 20 minutes ago when I decided to really put this up. But now I got one.”

The song became an instant hit on social media and received high praise. Moreover, Cole’s rapping clearly transcends the boundaries of hip-hop, and he invited fans from other disciplines to appreciate his greatness. It seems now, fans are highly anticipating his next album because of the song's quality.
I know I run an MMA based account but this is genuinely one of the greatest flows I've ever heard on a rap song https://t.co/bEtSAPlUXo

If the Dreamville founder is rapping like this on what seemed to him like a throwaway track, the world might not be ready for what he’s about to do on his next album The Fall Off.
