J. Cole’s The Fall Off is one of the most anticipated hip-hop albums in recent years. The rapper has been teasing his fans about the upcoming project for a while now. And a day before his birthday, Cole took to his ‘Inevitable’ website to announce that he's starting a blog, something that he wanted to do for a long time.

He wrote, “I been wanting a lil blog for years. Somewhere to post random s--t I f--k with where the audience is way smaller than it is on the social media platforms. Finally pulled the trigger, bare with us as we still developing this page and the layout.”

Toward the end of his message, Cole wished his fans a happy new year and wrote, “2025 will be a good one.” This was immediately taken as a hint for The Fall Off and fans on the internet ran with that assumption. Soon, the rumor caught the attention of Cole’s manager Ibrahim Hamad, and eventually reached the man himself.

A day later on his birthday, Cole posted another blog to clarify that the rumor had no truth to it. He wrote, “Ib told me some people was thinking this blog meant an album was about to drop. Nahhh. Not exactly. when it’s time for something you will know. This is not that.”

So, apparently, the wait for The Fall Off is going to continue for a while. It’s been nearly seven years since Cole first teased the idea of the project. Track number 12, for example, off his 2018 KOD album, was titled “1985 – Intro to “The Fall Off." Since then, he's mentioned the album’s name on several songs. Cole also sounds very confident about the quality of the album.

On “Crocodile Tearz," which is on his Might Delete Later project, he said, “The Fall Off is like Hov droppin' Reasonable Doubt last.” The Fall Off is also reportedly going to be his last album. However, Cole has neither confirmed nor denied the rumor. On “Adonis Interlude” he said, “Sixteen ain't enough to do it justice / Just cop The Fall Off and he'll explain / Is it the end of the chapter, happily ever after? / Bet this gon' be the year that fulfill his reign, mane.”

While it’s up to Cole to choose when he'll clear the air on these rumors, it’s hard to imagine him leaving the rap game at this point. He's been rapping better than everyone else in the genre for the past few years, and has showcased the ability to rap circles around anyone on his legendary feature runs. It’ll be better if Cole continues to build on his already Hall of Fame-worthy legacy.
