4. Glockoma 2 - Key Glock

The first half of the year was missing album drops from most of the bigger names in hip hop. After getting drops from A-list rappers such as Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Earl Sweatshirt, and Pusha T in the first half of last year, 2023 didn't have a single hip-hop project chart No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

However, just because some of the usual chart-toppers in hip hop didn't drop projects in early 2023 doesn't mean there weren't any diamonds in the rough among mainstream rappers. The 25-year-old Memphis, TN, rapper and songwriter Key Glock held us rap fans over with his uncompromising mixtape Glockoma 2.

Glock continued his impressive run of putting out good projects without any features with Glockoma 2. The last two projects from Glock (Glockoma 2 and Yellow Tape 2) didn't have any features on the tracklists.

Moreover, this is the follow-up to his 2018 mixtape Glockoma delivers one of Key Glock's most concise and enjoyable projects to date.

This is the project for any fans of trap and southern hip-hop that are looking for some hard-hitting trap bangers that come at you non-stop. Glockoma 2 doesn't miss, as it boasts some of the most popular southern hip-hop songs of the first half of 2023 in "Dirt" and "From Nothing", which combine for nearly 40 million streams on Spotify.
