In a recent interview with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay, DJ Khaled revealed that he texts Jay-Z 100 times a month to thank him for everything he has done for him. He said that Jay-Z is like a big brother to him, very generous and humble, and always responds to his texts with love and respect. DJ Khaled shared the story behind the recording of “God Did,” which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap/Sung Performance.
"I thought of bringing Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and Rick Ross together on a song and sending the beat to Jay-Z first. Jay-Z loved the beat and recorded his verse in one take. He then sent the song to Lil Wayne and Rick Ross, who recorded their verses quickly. I was amazed by the chemistry and trust among the artists, and he felt blessed to be part of such a historic collaboration."
