The countdown is on! The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is about to get a major dose of hip-hop magic. Bun B, the legendary rapper and H-Town icon, has just dropped a bombshell: Drake is joining the star-studded lineup for the All-American Takeover next Tuesday night. And let me tell you, this ain’t just any concert—it’s a seismic event that’s got fans buzzing from the Bayou City to the Big Apple.

Drake: More houstonian than ever

If there’s one artist who’s practically adopted Houston as a second home, it’s Drake. The Canadian-born rapper has been spotted all over town, from savoring Tex-Mex at Ninfa’s on Navigation to cruising down Westheimer Road with the top down. And let’s not forget that unforgettable moment during his 2023 concert at the Toyota Center, when he declared to the crowd, “I’m moving to Houston!” The city’s energy, the sweltering heat, the chopped and screwed beats—it’s all in his DNA.

Now, let’s talk about the All-American Takeover. Bun B, the man who put Houston hip-hop on the map, knows how to throw a party. His rodeo debut in 2022 was nothing short of historic, featuring a who’s who of H-Town talent: Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Lil Flip, Tobe Nwigwe, Baby Bash, Big Pokey, and Frankie J. Last year, he took us on a Southern journey with Juvenile and Mannie Fresh. And now? It’s all about going nationwide—from the West Coast to the East Coast and everywhere in between.

"People don’t realize how big of a deal the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo concert series is,” Bun B shared. “It’s very quietly one of the largest music festivals in the world. It’s 21 days of concerts in a football stadium, averaging 60,000-plus people per night. My night is no different. So I wanted to bring an amazing amount of talent representation."

The lineup: A hip-hop dream team

And what a lineup it is! Alongside Drake, we’ve got Eve, the fierce Philly rapper who’s been spitting fire since the '90s. Then there’s Nelly, the St. Louis legend who made “Hot in Herre” a global anthem. Rick Ross, the boss himself, will be in the building, along with That Mexican OT, E-40, and Too $hort. And don’t sleep on the Ying Yang Twins, who’ll have the crowd screaming “Whisper Song” like it’s 2005.
