Hip-hop heavyweights Fat Joe and Zoey Dollaz have teamed up with Food For The Poor to bring much-needed humanitarian aid to the embattled nation of Haiti. As the Caribbean country grapples with the aftermath of natural disasters and socio-economic challenges, this dynamic duo is stepping up to make a difference where it matters most. The partnership, aims to establish a relief fund that will provide essential supplies and support to families affected by Haiti’s most recent humanitarian crisis.

Haiti’s ongoing struggles

For nearly three years, Haiti has grappled with civil unrest, violence, and political instability. Prime Minister Ariel Henry recently stepped down in response to escalating incidents of violence in the country. His resignation followed a prison break at Haiti’s National Penitentiary, which allowed approximately 3,500 inmates to escape.

Gang violence has plagued the capital city of Port-au-Prince, leading to a state of emergency declaration. The situation has severely impacted the import of goods and the delivery of humanitarian aid, with the seaport and international airport remaining closed.

A Heartfelt Commitment

"My heart goes out to all the Haitians who are suffering because of this humanitarian crisis,” said Fat Joe, leader of the Terror Squad. “Many of my close friends are Haitian, so we’ve been watching this tragedy unfold and exploring the most efficient and effective ways to provide meaningful support."

The relief items and financial contributions will be channeled directly to Food For The Poor, ensuring that aid reaches the families in need.

Taking action

Fat Joe has taken concrete steps to make a difference. He has established an Amazon Wish List of essential items that will be sent directly to Haiti. These items include baby formula, diapers, and wipes.

Beyond his musical career, the Bronx native has emerged as an activist, using his platform to raise awareness and effect positive change. Last month, he paid tribute to his son while advocating for neurodivergent children and their unique challenges. His commitment to humanitarian causes extends beyond headlines and into meaningful action.

A beacon of hope

Zoey Dollaz, a fellow artist, joins Fat Joe in this noble endeavor. Together, they are shining a spotlight on Haiti’s plight and demonstrating the power of collaboration. Their partnership with Food For The Poor will make a tangible impact on the lives of those affected by the crisis. As the world watches, these hip-hop icons remind us that compassion knows no boundaries.
