If you've been following the Kansas City Chiefs this season, you've probably heard the booming voice of Tech N9ne rapping over a hard-hitting beat: "Welcome to the Red Kingdom!"

The song, titled Red Kingdom, is Tech N9ne's tribute to his hometown team and its star players, such as Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill. Released in 2019, the song has become the unofficial anthem for the Chiefs and their loyal fans, who call themselves the Chiefs Kingdom.

Tech N9ne, whose real name is Aaron Dontez Yates, is one of the most successful independent hip-hop artists of all time, with over 20 albums and millions of fans worldwide. He is also a die-hard Chiefs fan, who has been supporting the team since he was a kid.

"I grew up watching the Chiefs with my mom and my aunties and my uncles," he told Rolling Stone in 2020. "I've been a Chiefs fan since I can remember."

Aaron Dontez Yates, known by his stage name Tech N9ne, stands as one of the most accomplished independent hip-hop artists in history, boasting a discography of over 20 albums and a global fanbase numbering in the millions. Additionally, he is a devoted Chiefs fan, having supported the team since childhood.

"I wanted to do something that represented the city and the team and the players," he said. "I wanted to make something that would make them feel invincible."

He teamed up with fellow Kansas City rapper and producer King Iso, who crafted the fiery instrumental. Tech N9ne then wrote and recorded the lyrics in one night, referencing the team's history, colors, and slogans, as well as some of its legendary players, such as Derrick Thomas and Len Dawson.

The next day, he released the song on YouTube and social media, where it quickly went viral. The Chiefs and their fans loved it, and started playing it at the stadium, in the locker room, and on the radio. The song also caught the attention of the national media, who praised Tech N9ne for capturing the spirit and energy of the Chiefs Kingdom.

The song has since become a staple of the Chiefs' culture, especially during their historic run to the Super Bowl in 2020, where they defeated the San Francisco 49ers to win their first championship in 50 years. Tech N9ne performed the song live at a city-wide rally to celebrate the victory, where he was joined by some of the players and coaches.

This season, the song has continued to be the soundtrack for the Chiefs' success, as they aim to repeat as champions. Tech N9ne said he is proud of the impact his song has had on the team and the city, and hopes it will inspire them to keep winning.

"It's an honor to be a part of this," he said. "It's a beautiful thing to see the whole city united by this song and this team. I'm just glad I could contribute something to the Red Kingdom."
