Hip Hop received a beautiful gift today. Both sporting incredibly successful music careers and lengthy rap sheets (pun intended), Lil Durk and J. Cole have released a powerful track titled "All My Life". This comes not long after the Dreamville Festival back in April 2023, boasting a great performance by Lil Durk.

It's no surprise to anyone that has been following Lil Durk over the last couple of years that he has seen his fair share of tribulations. After his brother passed away back in June 2021, he entered a dark time, often striking fear in fans as he was showing signs of major depression. Juggling a successful career as an artist while grieving is an incredibly tedious feat. However, this hasn't stopped the Chicago-born artist from putting out great performances and even collaborating with one of the biggest names in Hip Hop.

The third track on his soon-to-be-released album Almost Healed, "All My Life" was presumably released to qualm fans' impatience with Lil Durks' decision to push back the release date of the anticipated album from May 12 to May 26 due to NBA Youngboy dropping the first track to his own mixtape, Richest Opp on the same day. Tensions have been rising between the two, coming to a head with this recent event.

In any event, Lil Durk looks like he's shouldering onward and has brought a surprisingly deep message to us all with "All My Life", opening up a bit about his feelings towards the past couple of years and the struggle to reshape his image:

"I decided I had to finish, but the media called me a menace
I done sat with the mayor and politicians, I'm tryna change the image
You can't blame my past no more, I come from the trenches
Some said I'd never be a superstar, but I know I'm different (No, no, no)
I'm The Voice, but the system ain't give me a choice
Know some people that's still undeployed
I know a felon who tryna get FOID
Child support your only support
For a visit, I'm goin' through courts
Went to jail, they was chainin' me up
And you know that I'm famous as f**k
See how you gon' joke about stimulus?
But they really had came in the clutch
I know some kids wanna hurt theyself
Stop tryna take drugs, I refer to myself
Tryna better myself, tryna better my health but"
