By Sara Gaini
On the festive occasion of Christmas Day (Dec. 25), Plies opted for a cozy visit to his mother's abode. However, the holiday spirit took an unexpected turn when a specific tune on her celebratory playlist, Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You," appeared to test his patience.
Sharing a light-hearted video on Instagram, Plies amusingly voiced his frustration, declaring:
"“I’m at my motherf**kin’ momma house. You hear this?” “I’m sick of hearing this motherf**kin’ song, ma. Alright? I love motherf**kin’ Mariah just like everybody else love her. But ain’t no godd**n way you want me to believe this the only motherf**kin’ Christmas song Mariah Carey got. No motherf**kin’ way Mariah want nobody that motherf**kin’ bad. I swear to God, you play that motherf**kin’ song one mo’ time, I’ma take my motherf**kin’ a** home.”"

The iconic "All I Want For Christmas Is You" made its debut in 1994 as part of Carey's fourth studio album, "Merry Christmas," featuring a mix of original compositions and covers of holiday classics. Over the years, the track has evolved into one of the R&B icon’s cherished gems.
As previously highlighted, the song consistently shatters streaming records, amassing an impressive 23,701,697 streams on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) in 2023 alone. Co-produced by Carey and Walter Afanasieff, the festive anthem currently reigns supreme on the Billboard Hot 100.
Reflecting on the enduring allure of "All I Want For Christmas Is You," Carey remarke:
""When it first came out, it gained popularity gradually. It was well-received, but it didn't have the impact it does now. I feel like people have grown up with the song, and it's become intertwined with their holiday celebrations. That genuinely makes me proud as someone who adores Christmas.""

Despite Plies' comical protest, it's clear that Mariah Carey's perennial Christmas anthem continues to enchant audiences each year, solidifying its status as an integral part of the festive season for many.
