Ranking every 2023 XXL Freshman Cypher

On June 21, the 2023 XXL Freshman Class was revealed, with the 12 hip-hop artists picked by the selection panel and the fans. Here are the 12 artists selected for the 2023 XXL Freshman Class.

The XXL Freshman Class always participates in a few events that see the artists give more background on themselves, do their own freestyle, and even get clowned on by fans and haters alike in a segment akin to Mean Tweets.

The main event is the Freshman Cypher. The XXL Freshman Cypher is the event often the most viewed by hip-hop fans each year.

Moreover, the 2023 class only saw 10 of the 12 members on the XXL cover participate in the cypher. Glorilla and Central Cee elected to forego the freestyles and cypher.

The first of the two cyphers dropped on July 17, including Finesse2Tymes, Lola Brooke, Fridayy, and Real Boston Richey. -

The second of the two Freshman Cyphers featured Rob49, SleazyWorld Go, TiaCorine, DC The Don, Luh Tyler, and 2Rare. This cypher dropped on YouTube on July 19 to round out this year's XXL Freshman Class events.
