Ranking the best of Yeat's discography

Yeat is undoubtedly one of the biggest names to come out of Hip Hops underground in the last couple of years. The Oregon native has ascended from having a crowd of just a few thousand listeners to millions of fans worldwide in that short time.

Since 2021, Yeat has stayed active, dropping more than a half-dozen projects between EPs, mixtapes, and albums. The most recent project Yeat released was Afterlyfe, which was one of the most buzz-worthy, hyped-up albums in the genre that has dropped so far in 2023.

Afterlyfe dropped on Feb. 24, 2023, and has since become the most streamed album from any rap artist that released so far this year. It wound up getting nearly 18 million Spotify streams on the day of its release.

What are the best projects of Yeats' music career (so far)?

After all the success that Yeat got from Afterlyfe so far this year, it sounds like we might not have to wait much longer for his next project.

In a now-deleted tweet, Yeat said that he would be canceling the release of the deluxe version of Afterlyfe, instead teasing another project.

Yeat is clearly in a crazy mode right now, dropping hit projects every few months in the last couple of years. Here's a ranking of Yeat's best projects so far, starting with his breakout 2021 mixtape 2 Alive.

5. 2 Alive

Yeat's second studio album, 2 Alive, was released in February 2022. This was the highly-anticipated follow-up to Yeat's studio album debut Up 2 Me, which dropped in the fall of 2021. Yeat was starting to generate some serious hype coming out of rap's underground around the time of the rollout of 2 Alivë in early 2022.

This wound up being Yeat's highest-charting album to date, debuting at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 200 while selling more than 35,000 copies in the first week.

The features on this tracklist included some of the biggest names of any Yeat album up to the point of 2 Alive's release in early 2022. Yeat got a diverse group of feature artists on this project such as Atlanta rappers Young Thug and Gunna along with Opium's Ken Carson.

Moreover, this project started on a positive note, with what could be the best song on the entire album "Poppin". We also got another trap and rage-infused banger with the second song on the tracklist, "Outside", which includes an impressive Young Thug feature.

After the first two songs on the tracklist, though, the rest is very hit or miss. The downside to Yeat's April 2021 mixtape Alive was magnified on 2 Alive, the production and flows become too repetitive. The impact that the booming bass and distorted synth loops have on the listener starts to die off after the first half-dozen songs or so on this album.

All in all, there are some solid tracks on here with a lot of replay value, such as the aforementioned "Poppin", "Outside", and the finale song "Still Countin". But there are too many misses and lengthy lulls in the tracklist for this album to hit for most listeners.
