Here's when Usher's Super Bowl Halftime Show should start (emphasis on should)

It's officially the biggest weekend of the year for the NFL, as the final two teams left standing will face off in the Super Bowl LVIII! The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will play at the Allegiant Stadium in sunny Las Vegas, Nevada this evening in one of the most highly anticipated sports games of 2024. Who do you have your bets on? I'm just hoping for a close game so it's at least entertaining! If you're tuning in tonight simply for the entertainment, not for the sports, you'll want to know when you should start paying attention.

Of course, one of the best parts of the Super Bowl each year is the halftime show, where popular musicians get on stage and give a performance of a lifetime. Last year, Rihanna wowed us with renditions of her most beloved songs, and the year before that we got to see a group performance by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, along with special guests. At the Super Bowl LVIII, Usher will perform. At this time any special guests have not been confirmed publicly.

Tune in for the Super Bowl Halftime Show at 8:00 p.m. ET to be safe

Planning on turning on the TV just in time to watch the Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show? Well, it's difficult to say exactly what time Usher will go on depending on how the first half of the NFL game goes, but we can confirm that he's expected to start performing at some point between 8:00 p.m. ET and 8:30 p.m. ET. So to be safe, we recommend turning on the game at 8:00 p.m. ET. The Super Bowl usually runs for three to four hours, depending on how close the game is.

As for how long the Super Bowl Halftime Show will go, well, Usher just revealed a bit of fun information. While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the 45-year-old R&B singer confirmed he wasn't able to cut his set down to the usual 13 minutes, and instead, his performance will run for 15 minutes total. "I can't explain why, but it's a funny thing that I was able to do and craft," Usher said when confirming his performance runtime. "That was a huge strategic thing that happened between me and my agency."

"I would hope that people would feel excited — whether they knew my music or they just got to meet me for the first time — and that I'm all passion, man," Usher says of his halftime show performance ahead of the big game. "And that this 8-year-old, who now is a 45-year-old, feels just as free as the first time that I thought any of this could be possible."

How to watch the Super Bowl Halftime Show

Ready to watch Usher take the stage during tonight's big game? Us too! Kick-off for the Super Bowl LVIII begins at 6:30 p.m. ET, so get all your snacks and drinks ready! The game will air exclusively on CBS and stream on its streaming service Paramount+. Nickelodeon is also doing a special kids' version of the Super Bowl, which will also be available on Paramount+ as well as the Nickelodeon network at the same time.

All of this is to say that you have a few options to watch the Super Bowl Halftime Show this evening. If you have access to the channel CBS, the simplest way to watch would be to turn on the channel at 8:00 p.m. ET in anticipation of Usher's performance starting. If you don't have CBS but are subscribed to Paramount+, you can use that platform to live stream the halftime show at the same time.
