Joey Bada$$ started the year the right way by dropping his new single "The Ruler’s Back," produced by Conductor Williams. On the track, Badmon Joey had some things to get off his chest. The 29-year-old put those on notice who have kept him out of rap conversations since he took an interest in acting. However, the opening line of the second verse was what caught Ray Vaughn’s attention.

Joey opened the second verse with, “Too much West Coast d--k licking / I'm hearing n-----s throw shots really ain't s--t sticking.” At the moment, the West is up, and they’re proud of the momentum that’s been built following Kendrick Lamar’s beef with Drake. So, before anyone could jump in to say their piece, Vaughn, a TDE artist, responded to the Brooklyn rapper on "Crashout Heritage."

“What’s with the sneak dissing? Taking shots at us, then hide the uzi / ‘Cause the only bada-s the world was recognizing is Boosie,” rapped Vaughn. Towards the end of his song, he praised Kendrick for doing the opposite when he was beefing with Drake.

“At least the homie was direct when he was mentioning y'all names,” Vaughn spits. Keeping up with the West Coast's recent tradition, he used Kendrick’s "heart pt. 6" beat to diss Joey. Vaughn’s song has been well-received by hip-hop fans on the internet. Most believe that he has put Joey on notice, and now he has to respond.

The TDE rapper posted a minute-long clip of his song on X with the caption, “2025 no sneak dissin, only crashouts.” He even tagged the "Power" star on his post but could not get his attention. A day after dropping the track, when Vaughn still didn’t have a response from Joey, he took to social media to take some more shots.

“Y’all chill he prolly shootin POWER or sum he ain’t see his phone give him some time,” he quipped at the Brooklyn rapper. It’s been nearly 24 hours since this post on X, and Joey has yet to reply. If he is back in the studio preparing a response for Vaughn, we hip-hop fans might be in for another ride.
