Cam'ron and Jay-Z had a well-documented beef in the early aughts. But it officially ended after Cam joined Jay at the Brooklyn rapper's B-sides concert in 2019. The two performed their collaborative cut "Welcome to New York" for the crowd.

But something still bothered the Harlem rhymer after the show concluded. It was a text message from Jay about ending their beef. Cam said he found the message peculiar and didn't know quite what to make of it.

"He texts me, 'Yo, that was dope last night.' [I responded by texting] 'That was really dope. I appreciate you guys putting this s--t to bed,''' Cam explained on his Talk With Flee YouTube show. "He was like, 'Yeah, man. See how much s--t we can do when n---s stop acting like there’s fake beef out here. That s--t slows s-t down.'"

"I didn’t know how to take that," he continued. "I didn’t know what he meant when he text that. I replied, 'Well, no matter what, you, Dame and Biggs gave me the opportunity to feed my family legally, so I don’t have no problem with it.' But inside, I’m like, 'Why would he even text that?' I don’t know. Even to this day, I don’t have no problem but I thought that was weird."

Cam then revealed that he hasn't seen or spoken to Jay since that B-sides show. He also praised his business acumen and said he believes they're still on good terms. But as far as working on another song together, Cam said it's unlikely since both he and Jay aren't doing music full time anymore.

Some might notice that Jay has ended many of the beefs he's had over the years including Nas, Fat Joe, Beanie Sigel, Jim Jones, The LOX, Lil Wayne, and Kanye West. If anything, it shows that Jay isn't interested in holding grudges.
