There’s a somewhat popular narrative on the internet that Eminem’s discography hasn’t aged well. It’s a foolish narrative that’s run by people who probably haven’t even heard his legendary music catalog. In fact, Em’s discography has aged arguably the best of any rapper across generations. The same is evident by the numbers he’s doing at the age of 52.
His 2004 classic song “Mockingbird” recently surpassed two billion streams on Spotify. “Mockingbird” has become Em’s fifth song to have over two billion streams on the platform. This makes him the only rapper to have five songs to cross that benchmark.
In fact, there’s no other rapper with four songs to have crossed two billion streams on Spotify. The previous four Em songs that have surpassed the coveted mark are “Without Me,” with 2.5 billion streams, “Lose Yourself” with 2.4 billion streams, “Till I Collapse” with 2.1 billion streams, and “The Real Slim Shady” with 2.07 billion streams.
Eminem's 'Mockingbird' has now surpassed 2 BILLION streams on Spotify 🔥📈

One fan marveled over the fact that despite being a pre-streaming era artist, Eminem is still the benchmark for the new generation. That person wrote, “The fact that Em is not a rapper from the streaming era but his old catalog keeps performing like he is from the streaming era is crazy and under appreciated.”

Em is the best-selling rapper of all time, having sold over 220 million copies. He has sold the most album units as well, over 61 million.
