JID is part of a dying breed. He's one of the few mainstream rappers who seems to be more concerned with self-expression than he is with spitting about overused rap topics like sex and money.
His last album, 2022's The Forever Story, is nothing short of brilliant, and it could be said that it competed with Kendrick Lamar's Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers for the best album of that year. So, it's no surprise that JID's fans are eager for him to release his next project, and it looks like they'll be getting it soon.
The Atlanta wordsmith recently sat down for an interview and said that his next album is finished.
"Yeah, it's done. It's turned in. It's been turned in," JID explained. "It's coming really f------g soon. It's been a long time in the making. All the T's are crossed and my I's are dotted. I think we're in a good position to build this new world that I've been working on for the past couple of years."

Now, whether JID was talking about his next solo effort or his collaboration with Metro Boomin is unknown since Metro tweeted about their joint project in March of 2023. "Got a lot of new music coming but when me and @JIDsv drop 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😵💫," wrote the producer.

But despite not releasing an album since 2022, JID has kept himself in the marketplace. He jumped on French Montana's 2024 song "Praise God," he featured on BIA's cut "Lights Out" that same year, and collaborated with Ab-Soul on the song "Crazier."
