Joey Bada$$ is known for delivering well-worded rhymes, being from Brooklyn, and being part of the Pro Era rap collective. But he isn't associated with fighting or even engaging in beef for that matter.

So, some might be surprised that he was seen in a violent altercation with someone inside a New York City clothing store.

Joey and a man can be seen arguing near a wall of hats on video. There's no audio, so it's unknown what the beef was all about. But the "Show Me" rapper gets into the man's face, and it appears they're both yelling based on their body movements.

Joey and the guy then continue their intense exchange, which is picked up from another camera angle. They still seem incredibly angry, and Joey keeps pointing in the guy's face. From there, they both move toward the door, and Joey grabs his hoodie before he starts yanking him around.

The Brooklyn lyricist can later be seen punching the man repeatedly while the man's hoodie is pulled over his head. Other people, perhaps the store owners, try to break things up but to no avail. The men fall on the floor after that, and the fist-fight instantly turns into a wrestling match.

The fight comes shortly after Joey was honored with his own day by New York City Mayor Eric Adams, which was on December 20. The honor was given to the 29-year-old during the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development's (DYCD) Hip-Hop Holiday Giveaway.

"We are thrilled to honor artist Joey Bada$$ for his commitment to DYCD and youth, and his Impact Mentorship program," said DYCD Commissioner Keith Howard, mentioning Joey's program that provides free mentorship for men of color.

Maybe Joey will explain what the fight was all about on social media or an interview. We'll have to see.
