Last year was one of the most exciting times ever to be a hip-hop fan. That's because two modern-day titans, Drake and Kendrick Lamar, were going at each other, exchanging diss tracks one after the other. A commotion like that wasn’t seen in hip-hop in a long time. It also provided a huge opportunity for popular streamers like Kai Cenat to grow their brand.

Whenever there’s a beef heating up in hip-hop, fans rush to discussion forums since they're eager to know what other people think about it. That’s where the job of streamers became important in the Drake-Lamar beef. Simply, because Cenat, with his millions of subscribers and followers, gave people a huge platform to talk about it.

The streamer told Billboard, “It was a good week. Everybody had their opinions. I was literally hopping on stream and had like 60,000 viewers. As soon as they dropped, my s--t was spiked to like 100,000.” As for his take on who won the beef, Cenat has a rather controversial answer, considering his association with Drake.

The 23-year-old had a close relationship with Drake. The Canadian rapper also texted Cenat, asking him to stay on livestream, as he was about to drop “Family Matters.” But despite the association, Cenat believes that Lamar took the dub. “I’m cool with Drake. So, people would expect me to be on Drake’s side. But I’m not going to lie. Kendrick won that battle,” said the Internet star.

Cenat then went on to talk about how he enjoyed the diss track exchange between the two rappers. He also said that both of them were dropping “bangers,” so in the end, it was a great moment for hip-hop fans. Lamar was declared the winner of the beef by some media houses as well. But with two polarizing figures butting heads and no limit on how far they can go, it comes down to personal preference.
