The reactions to Drake suing Universal Music Group for defamation is ongoing.
He filed the suit this week and blasted UMG for promoting Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us," a song where the pgLang rapper calls him a pedophile. Drake's argument is this: since he isn't a child predator, UMG was wrong to promote a song that calls him one.
Drake also accused the label of lifting its copyright stipulation for YouTube and Twitch streamers, so they could freely use "Not Like Us" on their platforms. According to the OVO founder, UMG spread "the [song] and its defamatory content as broadly as possible and as quickly as possible.”
Streamer Kai Cenat is one of the many people who went live when "Not Like Us" debuted in May of last year, and he racked up huge viewing numbers. As of this writing, his reaction video has been watched 9 million times, and that number will continue to grow.
Kai addressed Drake's lawsuit on livestream last night, and he was truly taken aback. "Wait, why am I in this s--t? Wait, hold on, I’m getting sued?" he asked. Kai then said Drake sent him a message when he was about to drop his Kendrick diss song, "Family Matters."
"N---a, this night I was told to stay on stream," Kai revealed, before realizing that he wasn't being sued by Drake. "Oh, I’m good. I’m alright. So, he’s just using us as examples of spreading misinformation type s--t?” he asked.
Plus, Kai denied Drake's claim that he and other streamers were paid by UMG to be on livestream when "Not Like Us" was released, saying that he isn't that "weak."
