Lil Baby spoke with Charlamagne tha God to promote his forthcoming albums Dominique and WHAM, which are set to be released in the new year. During one part of the conversation, Charlamagne asked Baby what he thought about Kendrick Lamar mentioning him on his Drake diss song "Not Like Us."
The Compton rapper name-drops Baby while making the claim that Drake has used Atlanta rappers to boost his brand and overall style.
"You called Future when you didn't see the club / Lil Baby helped you get your lingo up / 21 gave you false street cred / Thug made you feel like you a Slime in your head / Quavo said you can be from Northside / 2 Chainz say you good, but he lied / You run to Atlanta when you need a few dollars / No, you not a colleague, you a f-----g colonizer," raps Kendrick in the song.
Baby said that he doesn't like Kendrick mentioning his name. For one, he's friends with Drake and two, Kendrick's beef with the OVO rapper has nothing to do with him.
"I ain't really into, like, that side of hip-hop," Lil Baby explained. " great relationship. It's just with any situation, like, if you and him was arguing, why the hell you gon' say me, you know? I don't be having nothing to do with it ... To me, like, rap and s--t be my work. It's, like, I don't want that type of s--t at work. I ain't in it for that type of s--t, you know what I'm saying? I ain't on that."
You can see what else Baby had to say above. Who knows, maybe Kendrick will address his comments in a future song.
