The summer heat is about to get cranked up a few notches as the Ottawa Bluesfest announces its electrifying lineup for the 30th-anniversary celebration. Brace yourselves, music lovers, because this year’s festival promises an unforgettable experience with a star-studded cast of performers.

Who’s taking the Stage?

Among the headliners announced are rap icons 50 Cent, Killer Mike, and Nas, who will grace the stage over several days of musical extravaganza. Scheduled for July 6, fans can catch the dynamic performances of 50 Cent and Killer Mike, alongside an eclectic array of artists such as Shred Kelly and Melo-T. These heavyweights are ready to drop beats, spit fire, and ignite the crowd with their lyrical prowess.

But that’s not all! On July 14, the festival’s grand finale will feature none other than the legendary Nasty Nas himself. Sharing the spotlight with Nas are the soulful Ben Howard and the groovy Le Winston Band. It’s a lineup that transcends genres, bringing together hip-hop, rock, and soul in one harmonious blend.

A festival like no other

The Ottawa Bluesfest has been a staple in the Canadian music scene for three decades. From its humble beginnings to its current status as a global music phenomenon, this festival has consistently delivered unforgettable moments. And this year, it’s pulling out all the stops.

Killer Mike’s connection to wrestling legend Ric Flair

Speaking of Killer Mike, did you know that he recently attended wrestling icon Ric Flair’s 75th birthday bash? The Run the Jewels co-founder joined other luminaries like Darius Rucker and Hulk Hogan to honor the Nature Boy. Their friendship goes way back, with Killer Mike even dedicating a track titled “Ric Flair” to the legendary wrestler in 2011. The music video features classic clips of Flair, seamlessly blending hip-hop and wrestling culture.

50 Cent’s BMF triumph

Meanwhile, 50 Cent is riding high on the success of his hit series BMF (Black Mafia Family). The show, based on the rise of the notorious criminal organization in the '80s and '90s, has been renewed for a fourth season by STARZ. And there’s more good news: Big Meech, co-founder of BMF, is set to be released by 2025 after initially receiving a 30-year sentence for drug trafficking. Fif’s Instagram post sums it up:

"You know the vibes season 4 on the way. It’s only gonna get bigger and better but catch season 3."

Don’t miss out!

Whether you’re a hip-hop aficionado, a rock enthusiast, or just someone who loves good music, the Ottawa Bluesfest is where it’s at. Get ready to groove, sing along, and create memories that’ll last a lifetime. See you at the festival!
