About a week ago, GloRilla teased a new song on social media and it sparked plenty of responses. Some of the comments had to do with how much people liked the snippet, but others were offended at the Memphis rapper using the R-word.

"H*, you must not know what you started / Me and my b****h r******d," Glo says in the song.

"Why are we still using the R-word in 2024? I can’t get with this one," someone wrote when The Neighborhood Talk posted the snippet. "Folks trip about that word fr, but I understand cause it really is a slur fr," another person weighed in.

On the flip side, many said they didn't know the R-word is offensive and accused younger generations of being overly sensitive. But as the debate raged on, GloRilla took action by replacing the word. She then uploaded another snippet with the updated line.

"H*, you must not know what you started / Me and my b****h go naughty," she raps in the new version.

A lot of people then praised Glo for the change. "The fact that you changed the R word with naughty shows you are very mature. Heard the criticism and went back in the lab and changed it. Glo for the people ‼️" one Instagram message read. "I love how you changed the R word out the song," read another. "I wasn’t offended but that’s real. Very mindful."

If anything, the song tease shows that GloRilla continues to drop well-received music since plenty of her fans had positive things to say about the cut. This year alone, the 25-year-old dropped her hit single "Yeah Glo!," released a mixtape called Ehhthang Ehhthang that many loved, and put out another hot single called "TGIF," all of which made her even more popular than previous years.

Plus, it could be said that GloRilla stands among the top of those female rappers who've made big waves in recent years, like Ice Spice, Sexyy Red, and Latto, just to name a few.

In fact, Luther "Uncle Luke" Campbell of 2 Live Crew said female rappers are outshining the men. He also took credit for paving the way for today's female rappers and wants to be compensated.

"Male rap is on some bulls**t right now, I’m sorry," said Luke in a video. "The females are winning. They’re doing everything that I did. I’m still waiting for these girls to send me a f******g check ... I need a check from Ice Spice who turns her a*s around, dropping it like it’s hot and doo-doo browning. I need a check from Sexyy Red — nah, Red’s my friend."

"All the f******g girls, Megan Thee Stallion, anybody that’s running around shaking their a***s, talking about p***y and d**k on the record, y’all need to send me a check," he continued. "Just stop by with the check and say, 'Thank you, Uncle Luke, for fighting, going to the Supreme Court, allowing us to be able to say what we saying on the records, and we’re whooping these men’s a***s right now ’cause we doing our thing.''"
