Remember back in 2019 when it was a "Hot Girl Summer?" Besides those words being a popular phrase back then, it's also a song from Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj. But that seems like a million years ago, because by early 2024 the rappers were engaged in a full-on beef, which resulted in Megan dissing Nicki on the song "Hiss," and Nicki returning fire on "Big Foot."

In a newly released interview, Megan was asked if there was a chance that she and the Young Money artist could settle their differences. Megan answered by saying she can't talk about a reconciliation without knowing the true origins of the beef.

"I still to this day don’t know what the problem is," she told Billboard. "I don’t even know what could be reconciled because I, to this day, don’t know what the problem is."

But if one were to ask Nicki, she might say the beef started because of a few reasons. One of them being her claim that Megan told her to drink alcohol and get an abortion when she was pregnant. The "Everybody" rapper also accused her of trying to grow her career when she talked about Tory Lanez shooting her in an interview with Gayle King.

Nicki compared Megan to Rihanna as well, when the Barbadian singer talked about Chris Brown assaulting her in an interview. Remember, Brown pleaded guilty to one count of felony assault in 2009 after punching, kicking, and choking Rihanna.

"Now you go on Gayle King. To be honest, it’s so obvious," said Nicki on Twitter Spaces in January of this year. "She wanted a Rihanna moment so bad. Here’s the thing: Rihanna is just known for being herself. You get what you see ... So, Rihanna never would milk something like [that]. You could tell she couldn’t wait to move on with her life ... Because Rihanna knows that she was a superstar with or without controversy."

So, now, we'll have to wait and see if Nicki responds to Megan's Billboard interview, because she might be offended at the Houston rapper saying she has no idea how the beef started.
