Fanatics owner Michael Rubin threw his annual white party in The Hamptons on the 4th of July, and a long list of celebrities were in attendance. One of them was Drake, who's coming off a fierce battle with Kendrick Lamar.

As most probably know, Lamar's diss song "Not Like Us" made him the victor of the battle. The concept of the single centers on his claim that Drake is a pedophile, although that hasn't been proven. Still, the song can be heard everywhere, whether on the radio, coming out of vehicles, or on social media. But one place that it wasn't played was at Rubin's party.

The billionaire businessman talked about his refusal to play the song during a recent interview on The Breakfast Club and said it was purely his decision. However, he revealed it was played the night before at a pre-party, and he immediately told someone to turn it off.

“It was true," said Rubin at the 13:35 mark of the interview. "Drake’s [been] my friend for a long time. I’m not gonna invite him and then have, you know … Look, he’s obviously going through a little bit of a battle right now. I’m not gonna have him come there and [make it worse for him]. I didn’t think it was appropriate so I just sent a note that said, 'Hey, let’s not play anyone’s music that’s feuding with anyone that’s there.'”

"He’s obviously going through a little bit of a battle right now."

As of now, it's too early to tell how much "Not Like Us" and Drake's perceived loss to Lamar will affect his career. But if one were to pay attention to Lamar's fans, that person might believe the Canadian rapper will never recover, based on their social media comments. But really, Drake should be more than okay since he still has countless fans, which 50 Cent recently spoke about.

"I don’t see a loss for Drake," 50 told The Hollywood Reporter in a newly released interview. "The people who bought Drake material are going to buy Drake material when his next song comes out.”
