Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" and its impact continues to be discussed more than four months after it was released.

Snoop Dogg recently talked about the song and explained how Kendrick used it to unite their city of Los Angeles. Well, technically, Snoop is from nearby Long Beach, but he's considered one of the godfathers of L.A. rap. Snoop is also known to be a member of the Crips, and he's impressed at how Kendrick brought rival gangs together.

It's something the Compton-raised rapper did at his Pop Out show, which took place in Inglewood's Kia Forum on Juneteenth. Kendrick not only let a bunch of up and coming artists open for him, he invited rival gang members onstage for a big photo. Reportedly, he brought Crips, Bloods, Hoovers, Pirus, and other gang members to the stage.

"What Kendrick did was, he united the whole city, based off him being a king," said Snoop while speaking to Complex. "Taking this violent situation, which is a rap beef, and creating peace and giving the homies an opportunity to come onstage, to engage in his video, to be a part of his movement and to also move like he moves.”

"Because if you’re going to move with Kendrick, you gotta move like Kendrick," he added. "He’s about peace. He’s about love. He ain’t from no gang. He’s from a city full of gangs and he unites cities. So that’s what this was about."

It's also been said that "Not Like Us" is what caused Drake to lose to Kendrick in their huge battle. If one were to read some of the social media comments, Drake's career is all but over because of the loss.

That's far from the truth, though, because he has countless fans around the globe, who will most likely stream and purchase his music the second it's released. But that certainly doesn't take away the fact that Drizzy lost the battle. Clearly, he was out-rapped and out maneuvered by K Dot but again, that doesn't mean his career is kaput.
