Quando Rondo says his beef with King Von could've been handled differently
By Daryl Nelson
Quando Rondo recently sat down with DJ Akademiks for an interview. It's the first time he's done so since Lil Durk was accused of trying to have him killed.
Durk was arrested on October 24, of this year and charged with murder-for-hire. Police said the Chicago rapper hired a group of men affiliated with his OTF record label to murder Rondo.
Reportedly, the murder attempt was in retaliation for Rondo's friend Timothy Leeks shooting Chicago rapper King Von. In 2022 Rondo survived an attempt on his life, but his cousin Saviay’a "Lul Pab" Robinson, who was in the car with him, was killed.
Rondo told DJ Akademiks that his beef with Von could've been handled differently, without violence and expressed regret.
"All this bull---t that we talking about is stupid s--t that could have been handled a totally different way," Rondo explained. "It could have been to the point that a song and three or four million dollars could have came out this s--t ... It could have got handled in a legit way, in a music way, in a boss way. Even though sad to say I didn't know that a lot of s--- was like it was."
In related news, Rondo was arrested last year and accused of distributing methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana with others. He pleaded guilty in August of this year to one count of conspiracy to possess and distribute marijuana and will be sentenced on December 12.
"I really want to give an apology to the city of Savannah," Rondo told reporters. "And I want to give an apology to my family and friends, loved ones and most of all my daughters for taking all my family and all my loved ones through this stressful point."
