T.I. recently spoke with Fat Joe on The Bronx rapper's show Fat Joe Talks. The two men discussed a myriad of topics. They also talked about a rumor that T.I. and Lil Wayne had a beef with each other.

Joe said he heard the rumor right around the time Wayne and T.I. joined forces with Kanye West, Jay-Z, and M.I.A. on the 2008 song "Swagga Like Us." The cut is on Tip's sixth album Paper Trail, and Kanye produced the track.

During the interview, T.I. called the Wayne beef rumor bogus and said they share a mutual respect. "We got many records together," he told Joe. "And I think that some people talk because they got lips, and it’s respect there. The toughest fight you had, regardless of who it was you fought, you left with a respect for that person. It got to be that."

The Atlanta-raised rapper also explained how "Swagga Like Us" came about and said he was doubtful that all those big-named rappers would get on the song.

"To my knowledge, how I knew it, I was first because Gee Roberson gave me a beat that Kanye produced that had the M.I.A. sample," T.I. explained. "He got it to me with Kanye on the hook, and then he said, ‘You know what would be dope? If I could get Wayne and Hov on here too.' And I said, 'Man get the f--k out of here.'"

But despite Tip denying that he and Wayne had issues, he blasted the Young Money rapper in 2016. It was right after Wayne made some disparaging remarks about the Black Lives Matter movement, saying he doesn't feel connected to it, because it has nothing to do with him.

"I don't know what you goin thru, or what you are attempting to avoid but this s--t is absolutely unacceptable!!!!" wrote T.I. in part. "Bro if you don't stand for something out here, all the money, jewelry, cars, mansions, bandannas & hit records don't mean s--t!!"
