Last week we shared news that Tekashi 6ix9ine was put in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center, the same jail where Diddy is being held. Tekashi was accused of violating the terms of his supervised release by traveling to Las Vegas without permission, missing mandatory drug tests, and testing positive for Methamphetamine.
Now, XXL reports that Tekashi's lawyer and the Southern District of New York reached an agreement, and the rapper will be spending one month in jail after admitting to violating probation. He'll have one more year of probation tacked on as well and will be on house arrest for the first three months of his release. Tekashi will have to wear an ankle monitor on top of that.
Plus, he'll have to give up his passport and won't be allowed to travel outside of the United States. And all of that will certainly affect the recent deal he signed with Kartel Music to go on an international tour and release what he described as "Mexican regional music" under the label.
In fact, the deal might be terminated because there's a clause that says Tekashi has to stay out of legal trouble. But even though the 28-year-old admitted to violating the terms of his supervised release, he initially denied it.
"So, literally probation came today," said Tekashi last month. "I have court the 29th of this month. They said I tested positive for crystal meth. August 27th they said I tested positive for marijuana. I’m almost done with probation. My probation is up April 2, of 2025."
"I’ve been on probation for five years," he continued. "Now that you come at the end of probation, I don’t know ... Listen, anybody who knows Danny, anybody who knows Tekashi, I don’t do drugs. I don’t smoke marijuana. If you’ve ever seen me with a blunt I’ll give you $50,000."
