Back in August, Tyler, The Creator had the internet buzzing after he seemed to call out the Texas rapper Ian.

It was during an interview with Maverick Carter, and Tyler accused him of mocking southern rappers like Gucci Mane and Future. Mainly, because Ian raps in a traditional southern style while dressing like a well-to-do college student who's on the rowing team.

"There’s this kid right now, this white kid, regular Caucasian man, and he’s, like, mocking Future and Gucci Mane, like rap music, and people are like, 'This s--t hard!'" said Tyler. "It’s not even like satire, it’s like 'I’m just joking, I’m just mocking it.' But I’m like, 'No, no, no, you can’t do [that].' And I hold rap music so close to my heart 'cause this s--t changed my life and everyone’s life around me, and I’m a nerd about this s--t."

Tyler then brought up Eminem and Mac Miller, saying they're different from Ian because while being white, they still seem to have a genuine love for hip-hop culture. It's fair to say, though, that Ian hasn't said or did anything that would suggest he doesn't really love hip-hop. That's why he seemed to be so taken aback by Tyler's words.

On Monday, Lyrical Lemonade released a new freestyle that features Ian, and he responded to Tyler. He mentioned the California rapper's former Odd Future crew as well and not wanting to start any trouble with them.

“Back then, I really loved Odd Future / I ain’t never sat down tryna' mock Future / I ain’t wanna show no disrespect / So I kept my mouth shut and that’s not human," rapped Ian.

Tyler hasn't responded yet. You can see Ian's freestyle below.
