Wack 100 gave some advice to Drake after the Canadian rapper insulted DeMar DeRozan when DeRozan's Sacramento Kings took on the Toronto Raptors on Saturday, November 2.
During one part of the game, Drake dissed the NBA player while speaking to the Raptors' commentators on -air. "If you ever put up a DeRozan banner, I’ll go up there and pull it down myself," said Drake. He also called DeRozan a "goof" on-air. On top of that, the "Family Matters" creator is accused of cursing at him when the game concluded.
DeRozan responded in a press conference and didn't seem bothered by Drake's words. "He’s going to have a long way to climb… tell him good luck," he said about the rapper taking down his banner.
So what's at the root of this exchange? Well, it's not what but who and that person is Kendrick Lamar. That's because DeRozan attended Kendrick's Pop Out show over the summer and danced on stage to his Drake diss song "Not Like Us." DeRozan is in the "Not Like Us" video as well.
The thing is, like Kendrick, DeRozan is from Compton, California, so it may not be surprising that he supported Kendrick, even though he and Drake were friends. And that's pretty much what Wack 100 said when he spoke about Drake's beef with the hoop star.
Plus, Wack said Drake isn't a gangster, and he shouldn't be taunting someone who's from a place known to be the gangbanging capital of the world.
"He better chill out. I’m telling you that," Wack warned Drake. “He better get back. Leave that one alone. He’s from Compton … What is you talking about? Blood ain’t no gangster, homey. You better relax. This is the land of gangbanging. Ain’t no other city do it like this city … You n----s don’t even understand how sh*t work out here.”
