Mike Tyson and 50 Cent are both known to never mince words. But Tyson's interview with 14-year-old reporter Jazlyn Guerra was just too much for the G-Unit rapper.
During the interview, Guerra asked Tyson what he'd like his legacy to be. For those who've seen the teen reporter before, they've probably noticed that her celebrity guest tailor their answers to be kid friendly. But not Tyson, he spoke like he was being interviewed by a 40-year-old.
Tyson will fight Jake Paul in Dallas on Friday, November 15, and he seemed incredibly focused. So, maybe that's why his response was so intense.
"I don’t believe in the word legacy," he told Guerra. "I just think it’s another word for ego. Legacy doesn’t mean nothing. That’s just some word everyone grabbed onto … It means absolutely nothing to me. I’m just passing through. I’ma die and it’s going to be over. Who cares about legacy after that?"
"What a big ego," Tyson continued with a stone-cold look on his face. "I want people to think I’m this, I’m great. No, I’m nothing. We’re just dead. We’re dust, we’re absolutely nothing. Our legacy is nothing."
Guerra then tried to finish the interview after saying she's never heard someone answer a question about legacy like that before. But Tyson continued and doubled down on his point.
"Can you really imagine somebody saying, 'I really want my legacy to be this way'… You’re dead?” he explained. "You think someone really wants to think about you? Where’s the audacity. I want people to think about me when I’m gone. Who the f--k cares about me when I’m gone?"
50 Cent saw the interview after it went viral and was taken aback at Tyson's aggressive answer. The "In da Club" rapper also complimented Guerra for having such poise. "Got D--n it ! Mike ya scaring the kids, " wrote 50 on Instagram "Note to self, keep the kids away from Mike. @jazzysworldtv very professional baby."
