Diddy's voice heard for the first time since his arrest, says he's 'happy'

For his 50th birthday, Sean "Diddy" Combs hosted an all-out celebrity bash in his L.A.-area mansion. His 55th birthday was on Monday, November 4, of this year, and it couldn't look more different. He celebrated it in Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center after being arrested for sex trafficking and other alleged crimes.
Yesterday, Diddy's son Justin Combs shared a video of he and his siblings speaking with their father on the phone, and Diddy can be heard saying he's happy. The clip is the first time that his voice has been heard by the public since being arrested on September 15.
Besides Justin, Diddy's other sons, Christian Combs and Quincy Brown, were present for the call, as was his daughters D’Lila and Jessie James Combs, plus Love Combs. His other daughter Chance Combs wasn't seen in the clip but was on speaker phone.
"I just want to say I’m proud of y’all," Diddy can be heard saying. "I’m proud of y’all especially the girls, I mean all of y’all. Just for being strong, thank you for being strong. And thank you for being by my side. It’s important to me. I love y’all ... I got the best family in the world. It’s my birthday. I’m happy. Thank you. Thankful for y’all giving me this call. Thank you very much. I love y’all."
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Diddy's children have been sticking by their father's side during his legal troubles.
In September, they shot down a rumor that he had something to do with their mother Kim Porter's death. Then a month later, the Combs kids uploaded another message about how difficult their father's arrest has been on them.
"The past month has devastated our family," their message reads. "Many have judged both him and us based on accusations, conspiracy theories, and false narratives that have spiraled into absurdity on social media. We stand united, supporting you every step of the way. We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family."
