Doechii put on quite the performance at the Grammys earlier this month, performing "Catfish" and "Denial Is a River," off her stellar mixtape, Alligator Bites Never Heal.

A lot of people praised her stage show, but some thought she lip-synced the whole thing. That frustrated Doechii, so she denied the claim and blasted her critics in a video. The TDE artist also let it be known that she was ill during her two-song set.

"I can’t possibly get on here and say calmly or nicely, y’all are stupid as hell, so slow," said Doechii. "That is my DJ’s voice picking up on the lines that I can’t say because I’m doing a somersault. That entire performance was live. I was sick as a dog with bronchitis and the flu, performing my a-s off in a straddle on top of human men."

“You can hear my beads slapping the mic in the beginning," she added. "Worked my a-s off to build the stamina for that, for y’all to play in my face. I don’t lip-synch. Don’t ever f-----g play with me like that. Ever!”

Clearly, though, it seems that way more people praised Doechii's performance compared to those who dissed it. But like Erykah Badu once said, artists are super sensitive about their material, so it makes sense that Doechii was so offended by the lip-synching talk.

But she'll probably learn at some point that answering critics on social media is an endless job, because there will always be people who have negative words to spew.

Just ask Cardi B, who seemingly spends much of her time answering critics. Cardi even admitted that people's negative comments has kept her from releasing her sophomore album after 2018's Invasion of Privacy.
