Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR came out with a collab album on Valentine’s Day titled $OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U. The R&B-centric album was well received by fans of both artists, earning over 56.6 million streams on the first day.
This was the second-highest streaming debut of the year, only behind The Weeknd’s Hurry Up Tomorrow. Still, though, the LP was the fifth lowest-selling of Drake’s career, as HipHopDX pointed out.
Artists often record way more songs for their projects than they end up putting on the final cut. Although $OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U had a good run time of 1 hour and 13 minutes with 21 songs, there were a few tracks that were either shelved or couldn’t get sample clearance in time.
One such song was shared by the 6 God on his burner Instagram account, plottttwistttttt. He revealed that the track couldn’t make the final cut due to a sample clearance issue. He wrote, “no $$$AMPLE CLEARANCE for my goat.” Although Drake didn’t mention the name of the artist in the caption, he tagged her in the post.
The artist goes by the name OnlyHeaven, and she's from New Orleans. Despite getting a limited release via an Instagram post on a burner account, the track received positive reactions. One fan wrote, “Damn you needed this on the album!!! Undeniable hit and you haven’t even heard Drizzy part.” Fans were also impressed by OnlyHeaven’s rapping style, delivery, and writing ability.
She later acknowledged the song on Instagram, hinting that it could be included in the deluxe version of $OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U. “Yeah he’s saving the best for next for sure. $$$. Drake’s deluxe album?” wrote OnlyHeaven. As of now, there are no signs of a deluxe version of the album.
