Fans have been waiting for ‘Tha Carter VI’ with bated breath. The wait for the album is almost as long as the wait between the fourth and fifth installment of the series. The only difference is that back then, Lil Wayne was on a career hiatus, whereas now, he has no such reason.
On the bright side, it also shows that Weezy has had enough time to work on and perfect the album. He has been dropping hints about the album for a while. Earlier this year, he revealed the release date as well.
Wayne was snubbed from performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show in his hometown. However, he soon got over it and revealed the album release date with a Super Bowl ad with Cetaphil. Taking a dig at people calling him “sensitive” for making a big deal out of the snub, he stated, “We’re all a lil sensitive.” Toward the end of the ad, he revealed the release date: 06-06-25.

Now, with the release date approaching, Weezy has revealed the features of his album as well. During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the rap legend talked about his upcoming album in great detail. ‘Tha Carter VI’ is set to feature Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Andrea Bocelli, MGK, Elephant Man, Bono [of U2], and his son Kameron Carter.

The production is being handled by the likes of Kanye West, Wheezy, and Wyclef Jean, among others. Wayne is confident about how the album has shaped up. He still has a lot of time left, which will only add to the overall quality of his project. He said, “If there’s one thing about this album that’s different, it’s me approaching it like, ‘Man, what would I sound like on something with such and such?’”
Jean revealed that they recorded nearly 30 songs for the album. “You don’t know what’s going to pop out. You going to probably do like eight songs [with Wyclef] because he’s going to keep flipping what you did on one [song] and make a whole [new] song out of that s**t,” Wayne added.
There might be some more surprises on the album that weren’t revealed during the interview. Regardless, Tha Carter VI can potentially kickstart another Lil Wayne era in the music industry.
