Logic chose to defend himself after Maxo Kream said he swiped his beat idea.
The DMV rapper previewed some of the tracks from his album Side Quest on live stream not too long ago. One of those songs is called “700 Club,” a collaboration with Wiz Khalifa and it got Maxo's attention.
That's because Maxo said the beat on "700 Club" is exactly like his 2019 song "Meet Again," and he let Logic know about it. “Jus stole my song huh," Maxo tweeted. Meanwhile, Mike Deen, who worked on the beat, also accused Logic of theft. "Pay us," he wrote on Instagram, according to HipHopDX.

Logic eventually caught wind of Maxo's complaint and denied pilfering the "Meet Again" beat. He also admitted that "700 Club" used the same sample but so does a lot of other songs.
"I don’t be on the internet and somebody hit me about this dude I’ve never heard of before named Maxo Kream, who’s pretty dope," said Logic in a video. "So probably like 45 minutes ago, somebody showed me some Complex thing that was like, ‘Logic stole this dude’s song’ or whatever."
"I was like, ‘I don’t know who that is,'" he continued. "Then I went and listened to the song and I was like, ‘Oh wow, yeah, it’s the same sample.’ And it’s been sampled like 15 times since the ’70s. Nas has sampled it, everybody’s sampled it."
Logic then told Maxo that he can go online and see that "700 Club" was made on live stream in real time, so there's no way he could've copied "Meet Again."
"The way that the song came about is a couple of months ago. I’m just on stream, Twitch and 6ix had sent me a beat right then and there from scratch," Logic explained. "I’m sipping scotch and you can see me come up with this song from scratch."
Logic then doubled down on his denial about stealing the beat and said he and Maxo should work together. “It’s nothing but love, man. S**t, let’s do a record. Let’s get this money and turn the f**k up. That’s what we should be doing. We’re brothers," Logic told him. You can see his full response below.
