Comedian and Summer House cast member Hannah Berner said she was wrong for using a certain word while interviewing Megan Thee Stallion a few days ago at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. "When I want to fight someone I listen to your music," Hannah told Megan. "When people are talking s--t I go turn on Megan Thee Stallion."
Seeming to find her words funny, the Houston rapper instantly responded. “Because you want to throw that fighting s--t out the window, and you want to get cute and be a bad b---h," she replied.
The interview seemed harmless but that wasn't the case, according to social media users. That's because soon after, people began blasting Hannah, saying that she was being insensitive to Megan and her music.
"Megan music does not make you want to fight. She tried it lol," someone wrote on YouTube. "Goofy," another person simply stated.
Hannah responded to the backlash, apologized, and said she understands why some were offended. For the record, Megan didn't seem bothered and hasn't commented on the interview or the criticism.
“Interviewing Megan Thee Stallion was a dream of mine,” wrote Hannah on Instagram Stories. “I love her music and it’s my go to whenever I need to boost my confidence before a show. Looking back at the interview, I wish I used any other word except ‘fight’ to describe how her songs impact me.”
"It was a careless choice of words and there was no ill intent,” she added. “I recognize and acknowledge that what I said has a deeper meaning and I am so sorry to Megan. I appreciate everyone who brought this to my attention.”
