Many are saying this old video proves that Drake doesn't like The Weeknd

With all of the rappers who've been beefing with Drake this year, including Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, and A$AP Rocky, some might forget that The Weeknd is also beefing with Drizzy, who dissed him on the song "Push Ups."

The After Hours singer then hit back by sending his fellow Canadian a couple of shots on Future and Metro Boomin's We Still Don't Trust You album. That led to Drake dissing him again on "Family Matters."

So, now, some on social media have theorized The Weeknd and Drake have been longtime foes with some pointing to a 2013 video that Drake just released. The OVO rapper dropped the clip in the second round of his 100 gig data dump.

The video shows a younger Drizzy entering a backstage room and greeting everyone except The Weeknd. Well, he does acknowledge him at the end of the video but the footage was stopped right before he was about to shake his hand.

Many responded to the clip on X and said they could feel the tension coming through their screen.

"The energy between Drake and The Weeknd is off here and this is 2013," one person commented. "You can tell Abel does not fw him lol," read another comment. "Drake dapped up everybody in the room but Weeknd. That’s where the hate comes from," a third person alleged.

Neither Drake or The Weeknd have explained the origins of their beef. It could have to do with Drake wanting to sign him to his OVO Sound label but never did. Then when the "Starboy" creator inked a deal with Atlantic Records in 2012, many thought Drake sent him a shot. "You won't get away with just a thank you...you owe me a favor," wrote Drizzy.

They appeared to be friendly with each other after that 2012 tweet, so it's not clear if The Weeknd not signing to OVO actually started the feud. But something major is going on between them — that's for sure.
