Latto's new album Sugar Honey Iced Tea dropped on August 9 and is projected to sell 26,800 equivalent units, per HITS Daily Double. The album is also expected to land at number 17 on Billboard.

Look, it's been a long time since people rushed to record stores to buy albums, and first-week sales aren't always indicative of how many units will eventually be sold. So, selling almost 27,000 albums in the first week is more than respectable.

But that didn't stop Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice's fans from dissing Latto over those numbers, which they did on social media. That's because Nicki and Ice have beefed with the Atlanta rapper in the recent past. Some also brought up features by Megan Thee Stallion, Ciara, and Cardi B not helping the album sell more units.

"20 songs with big features and not outselling Ice?" one person tweeted. "LMFAOOOOOOO FLOPPED LIKE EVE[R]Y ALBUM SHE HAS EVER DROPPED,” wrote a Nicki fan.

The beef between Latto and Nicki began in 2022 when they argued over the Grammys. Nicki was upset that her “Super Freaky Girl” song was put in the pop category instead of rap and didn't like that Latto's song "Big Energy" was placed in the rap category.

From there, Nicki called Latto a "Karen" for not defending her, so Latto implied that Nicki is old. Latto then leaked a private phone call she had with Nicki that went viral.

Latto's beef with Ice is more recent. They began sending shots at each other in songs and still haven't made amends, unless it was done behind the scenes. Either way, Latto's detractors had a good time with the sales prediction.

"Ice spice sold way more omg," one X user chimed in. "Nicki ended her," read someone else's tweet.

Others, however, said they expect the album numbers to climb. Plus, there are many who've said that Latto made a quality LP, so it should have a lot of staying power. We'll have to see if that's the case.
