In 2025, Sexyy Red is definitely one of the biggest female rappers in the game. She has plenty of well-received songs, she got a major co-sign from Drake, and has a pop hit with Bruno Mars called "Fat Juicy & Wet."

But Sexyy says she doesn't always feel the love, which she talked about during a recent interview on Big Boy’s Neighborhood.

“I feel like I’m the most hated female rapper,” she said at the 27:01 part of the interview. “Like, they hate on me the most. I get a lot of love, but I know when they be hating on me ... It be like little inside s**t."

Not only that, Sexyy believes the hate isn't coming from just social media trolls and contrarians, it could be coming from industry people. “They trying to put me down. I be feeling like, ‘Is y’all sending people to comment under here?' I feel like it’s some hidden agendas … It could be labels … I just be feeling like they don’t like seeing me win," she explained.

If the St. Louis rapper wanted to use an example of the backlash she gets, she could point to the hubbub that started after she was named one of the acts at The Roots Picnic last year. The Philadelphia band often chooses artists who exist in their same conscious rap category, so when Sexyy was named, people said her overtly sexual songs just don't fit into the annual event.

Eventually, the bands' drummer Questlove defended the decision. “I’m still shocked yall got energy for oh h**l no isms. Like it’s 16 years folks–when have you seen a festival in which EVERY ACT is the act you love," he wrote, per Stereogum.
