It's been two weeks since Diddy was sent to Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center after being charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He's already been denied bond twice, and he's now trying a third time.
As TMZ reports, Diddy's lawyer filed a new appeal to have him released. The rapper bulked up his legal team as well, hiring lawyers Alexandra Shapiro and Anthony Ricco.
Diddy first put up a $50 million bail package to be released, but a judge shot down his request, saying he was still a flight risk and had the potential to influence witnesses. In his second attempt, Diddy said he'd stay away from drugs and female visitors, but that didn't get him freed either.
Plenty has happened since the Bad Boy founder was arrested on September 16, in a New York City hotel. For example, a Texas lawyer from The Buzbee Law Firm says he's representing 50 people who said Diddy sexually assaulted them.
Plus, another lawyer named Ariel Mitchell-Kidd, who's representing a new accuser, said her client was contacted about the sale of a tape that shows that person, Diddy, and another "high-profile" individual engaging in illicit behavior.
"There already have been tapes leaking around Hollywood being shopped around," said Mitchell-Kidd on Banfield. "But one particular person contacted me to shop a particular video they were in possession of and to contact the person who was in the video to see if they were interested in purchasing the video before it became public knowledge."
“I can tell the video was pornographic in nature," she continued. "This was in his Atlanta home, and it does seem the person isn’t looking into the video. To me, it doesn’t seem like that person knows they’re being videotaped."
