Nicki Minaj has a new single out that is getting a lot of attention called ‘Anaconda.’ The song samples Sir Mix-A-Lot’s famous song “Baby Got Back,” and the famous anaconda line.
The track has gotten some mixed reviews for various reasons. Most stunning at first was the artwork for the album, which features Nicki Minaj squatting in a barely present pink thong.
It led her to defend it on social media, posting pictures of white woman from magazines like Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit issue to call to attention why those are appropriate, but hers is not.
The song has been popular, cracking the Billboard Hot 100 chart, it was the track that moved her ahead of Michael Jackson for most Hot 100 hits, giving her 51 total.
The video is set to be released on Wednesday, but Minaj released a lyric video over the weekend. What makes this lyric video interesting is that it simply isn’t the lyrics on screen, there is a certain artistry to it. The vide changes fonts and imagery to describe what she is talking about.
It is done almost so well that it could serve as a video itself.
Watch it and tell us what you think of the video in the comments below. We want to hear your opinion.
