Stream/Download: Vince Staples' New Mixtape

Long Beach, California rapper Vince Staples just released his second solo mixtape today. You may know him as a friend of the group Odd Future. Or a friend of Mac Miller. Or a friend of producer Michael Uzowuru. Or a friend of “Gucci Gucci” writer Speak!. Or as friends with Joey Fatts and Ashton Matthews. Or friends with Jhene Aiko. Staples is the dude everyone says is a great rapper who hardly ever raps. Last year, he appeared on Earl Sweatshirt’s album Doris a few times, did a mixtape with Mac Miller‘s nom de producer Larry Fisherman, and did a verse with with Aiko. Besides the mixtape he did with Uzowuru in 2012, it’s been over two years since the first Shyne Coldchain mixtape. He’s not exactly profuse.

But for some reason Def Jam signed him, and today he uploaded Shyne Coldchain Vol. 2 to the Internets. It features guest spots singers Jhene Aiko and James Fauntleroy, and production by No I.D., Evidence and Scoop DeVille. Stream it on below on Soundcloud or click through to download it from Sendspace. Staples is currently on tour with with his TDE friends Schoolboy Q and Isaiah Rashad.
