Chance The Rapper Shares Opinion On Kanye

With Kanye West’s recent Trump support and social media conundrum, many have wondered what Chance the Rapper’s current stance on his collaborator is with their joint album, Good Ass Job, rumored to be dropping soon.

Invited to “The Joe Budden Podcast with Rory and Mal” to discuss his thoughts on Kanye West’s political views among many other topics, Chance The Rapper took a grounded approach. He began to offer both understanding and disagreement for one of his inspirations.

“I’ve been a huge Kanye West Fan, he said. “Since The Life of Pablo, since I first met Kanye, I’ve been begging him to come back to Chicago and work on a project with me.”

A few weeks ago at an event with none other than Chance, Kanye West announced that he is moving back to Chicago.  In the interview, Budden inquired about Chance’s current affiliation with the 41-year-old rapper and designer.

Instead of going on angry instagram rants (I.e. Snoop Dogg), Chance replied to Budden’s question – “Does he have these conversations with Kanye?”

“Hell yeah…definitely in these past few weeks since he’s been back in Chicago, that’s what it is: hard conversations.”

However, Chance added that he does not agree with West’s politics. When speaking on Kanye’s bizarre outfit consisting of a Donald Trump hat with a Colin Kaepernick sweatshirt, Budden stated that, “It seems like it totally contradicts everything you stand for,” to which Chance replied with a humorous “Yeah.”

The 25-year-old Chicago native instead sees Ye’s true goal (politics aside) as someone who wants to be a visionary for years to come.

“I think Kanye thinks – with every move at least for the past few albums – he thinks about himself like 300 years in the future and how people will read things. And figures himself as trying to create a bigger blip on the long timeline, whereas a lot of the people will be stuck in a very small space of where their art reaches, or where their thoughts reach, after they’ve died.”
